# Configure Solara: Prefix, Language, and Module Settings

> Customize Solara with per-command controls, custom prefix, multi-language support, role-based access, and import/export of your full server configuration.

Solara is designed to fit your server's workflow, not the other way around. Every module, command, and permission can be adjusted to match exactly how your team operates — whether you prefer making changes through the web dashboard or directly with slash commands. Configuration changes take effect immediately with no restart required.

## Configuration options

**Web dashboard**
Run `/dashboard` to get a link to Solara's web dashboard for your server. The dashboard provides a visual, no-code interface for every configuration option — ideal for server owners who prefer point-and-click setup over commands.

**Per-command enable/disable controls**
Turn individual commands on or off for your server at any time. If your community doesn't use a particular feature, disable it to keep things tidy and prevent confusion.

**Custom prefix**
Set a custom command prefix with `/prefix set <prefix>`. This allows you to use a character or string of your choice for non-slash commands. Slash commands (beginning with `/`) always work regardless of your custom prefix setting.

**Multi-language support**
Use `/language` to set Solara's response language. Solara supports 15+ languages, so your community can interact with the bot in whichever language your members are most comfortable with.

**Role-based command access control**
Restrict specific commands to specific roles. This lets you give your moderation team access to moderation commands while keeping sensitive configuration commands limited to server administrators.

**Import and export server configuration**
Back up your entire Solara configuration or migrate it to another server using the import/export feature. This is especially useful when setting up a new server that should mirror an existing one.

**Reset a module to defaults**
Use `/reset` to wipe a module's configuration and return it to its default state. Useful when a configuration has become inconsistent or you want to start fresh with a particular feature.

  Slash commands (beginning with `/`) always work regardless of your custom prefix setting. The custom prefix only affects non-slash command usage.

  Run `/config` at any time to see a summary of your current Solara configuration. It's the fastest way to check what's enabled, what prefix you're using, and which log channels are set up.
